Hi, I'm Mark Vollrath. I grew up in Kingsville, MO. A town 50 miles outside of Kansas City, and much smaller and less cool than Taylors Falls. I migrated northward to attend school in Minneapolis and felt at home in Minnesota, been here ever since.
After visiting Taylors Falls over 25 years ago on a college outing, I fell in love with the area and knew someday I'd want to live in a place like this.
As luck would have it, I moved here 13 years ago as a place to settle down after having my first child.
Since then I have lived a full life in the area. I worked locally for The Bitworks for a few years, getting married, buying a house, having a second child, and eventually going through a divorce, meanwhile I built up a career that had me working downtown Minneapolis and traveling the world to install and repair specialty machines.
The aforementioned divorce and associated custody arrangement has shifted me from traveling for work like I once had and I find myself having a desire to return to being more locally involved in my community.
I started the TinkerFarm to serve my community, spend more time with my kids, and maybe make it so I can work exclusively for myself.
Thanks for your support!
